I'm 32 year old poet and writer from Iceland with immoral passion for writing. I write both from experience of living life or I make things totally up. I write both in Icelandic and English. I love reading poetry and litterateur though I would like to do more of it along with writing. So I look forward checking you guys out and hope you enjoy my works at the same time and of course feel free to comment as you like. (in constructive way though please, I'll do the same back)

Really liked reading Dave. Your poem woke me up. Mr. Chinaski work is such an inspiration for many of us. You wrote it well and clearly down in it's simplicity the difference between living the norm or the Bukowski way. But for me what matters is his writings both his poetry and stories not the lifestyle. He had a rough childhood and suffered from alcoholism all his life as so many writers do and did. He was anti-social, so can I be and many other's.(not only poets) He's works are still living and will hopefully forever be.

I recommend the documentary "Born into this" for those interested in his life. A great documentary about Bukowski's life. The title "Born into this" is from one of his many outstanding poems. Watch Barfly with Mickey Rourke's outstanding performing loosely based on Bukowski's life and of course his long time striving dream to be recognised as a respected writer. So do I. For me it's about talents and imagination not what kind of life we live so I'm sure you still have a chance of course. Good luck with your writings and keep it up - I might read more at least.

P.s I work in the post in Iceland and I write and drink too much lol but I'm just like everybody else or nobody else. You hit the nail on the head! Thanks so much for the inspiration. All the best - Johnny

Very well expressed. So sad but true about many alcoholics and mentally ill people, they become zombies after doctor's treatment. Stuffed with pills, disability and no hope for a better life. All for the benefits mafia ran by doctor's and medicine industry. And the public seems too numb to see it and fight for change. So sad and you depicted it very well here in your prose. Thanks for sharing and all the best to you rhetorica. - Johnny Wilson.
