I am a semi-retired teacher who likes to write poetry and whose favorites in life are my yearslong companion, friends, reading, classical and jazz music, cooking, movies and the greatest of all jazz-singer divas, Sarah Vaughn.
I'm on the site for a lot of personal reasons, but mainly to learn, to get suggestions and criticisms, positive or negative, that can help me develop whatever talent I might have - or help me reluctantly discover whatever abilities I don't have. In return, I'll try to offer back honest and constructive thoughts on others' poems.

Renji : A soft rose to lie.. on January 14upon your quiet grave in understanding. I know you may never come to read this, though I hope you are well. I find myself wandering to your page at four in the morning.. It is dark and peaceful. I look at your traces of firm resolve to leave, and I do wish you well in the reasons.. I have done the same at times in different ways, of course. Purging myself from others' lives and placing my first memory forth as to try and make them see me as I used to be, disgusted with myself.
Lad.. I do hope that isn't the reason you have left, as you are a fine man and human being as I've ever come across.
I cannot know you face-to-face, but heart-to-heart, I know your friendship is something I consider well worth my time, and not something to casually take for granted. I know you have made a large impact upon my life.. And I wish you well. In understanding.
One last kudos to you, my friend.

purple esprit : Have you really gone? on September 1, 2009Lad, it is exactly 1 year since we last saw you, I often checked about your presence and I think (like many others do) that it is a loss to this site that you are missing. May you be healthy and happy wherever! Ulla xx

Thanks, lesoriginale...
...for such a thoughtful and generous review of this poem. It's a three-part little drama, each stanza in haiku style. I'm glad it worked for you.
And I hope you enjoy your time on the site.
Later...
Lad

Good to hear from you again, p of w...
...and thanks for such an empathetic review of the poem. And I'm glad you caught that bit of "hope of revival", as you say, at the poem's conclusion. I really appreciate your kind and knowing comment!Later...
