My Conundrum 1 This morning, on the way to drop off my daughter off at school, we passed a gruesome sight- a cat squashed on the side of the road, its internal sundries spread several yards down the road. This kind of thing upsets me- puts a dark cloud on the day. Besides being a cat lover (general animOctober 1, 2009, In My own personal thoughts. 700 words. → 15 comments, Add one?

Brian Balzer : Hello Nickelspring on January 14, 2009Welcome to sharepoetry. This is a smaller version of allpoetry, yet it is a rapidly growing community of talented poets. Most of the folks here are fairly friendly most of the time. If you have any questions feel free to holler. I'm happy to help anytime I can. Enjoy your stay. I have compiled a list of helpful hints I will send to you that would help explain a few things. They explain the point system and how to win a free membership and things like that. Let me know if you if you find them helpful and if you think of anything that could be added. Just a note, this is not an automated message. It is a personal welcome from a fellow poet. Welcome.
Read ya 'round,

on The Seed by Brian Balzer, on January 15, 2009I really like evolution poems. This one expresses something most of us can relate to. I like your word choices that show so well the metamorphasis of the feelings that were experienced. It is interesting to take the first three lines and the last three lines and see the contrast the poem presents:
"My feelings toward her
were always so clear.
It was love at first sight.
The seed which was planted
in my love for her had grown.
It had become Hate.
