A kid at my school killed himself
His girlfriend broke up with him
He did it on her birthday-the same day
He lived a few miles away from me
I didn't know him very well
I only talked to him a couple times
But the news was still a shock
It came over the morning announcements
How do you get that lonely
How do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call
That having no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty
You want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely
And no body know
He was the kind of person
You would never expect this from
He always made people laugh
He was better than this
Jeff although I didn't know you
I still miss you
I wish you wouldn't have done this
It's hurt everyone you loved
How do you get that lonely
How do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call
That having no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty
You want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely
And no body know
No body knew.
Author notes
This is in memory of Jeffery Myers, who hung himself on February 15, 2005. It effected everyone at school, those who knew him and those who didn't. It was a tragedy that struck our school, and I hope it never happens again. God Bless anyone who has had this happen to them.
Please tell me what you think

dear alice
no disrespect from your poem you sound like a nice a girl and what a tragedy that your poem started to tell as an interesting thought provoking narrative (story) then half way through you decided to ryhme and wrote and no body know, which is very awkward but you did it to make the rhyme fit. i think you should ve just stuck to the story.
