Remembrance

Just you.
Not a familiar word could express.
I love to love you.
There's no place else,
I'd rather be.
Just right here in the sound.
Every detail, every word,
nothing else matters,
not anymore.
I tried rhyming,
but darling you struck it.
Now it lies there,
bare and motionless.
Yet somehow I still seem to know how it feels.
Oh I was wrong.
I never knew what love had meant.
I never knew why time was spent.
I never knew, I never knew.
I swear to God, I never knew.
But since you came I saw the truth.
You just don't how grateful I am.
The sweet beauty that displayed off the mirror.
You taught me how to smile again.
And I understand now that it was you.
You knew me in another time,
long ago and far away.
So darling let us write a rhyme,
and our rhyme together will blend.
