To you; Dave Ochs!!!!!!!!!!!

A man with a heart of gold,

a stranger who, lent me his un-dying support.

We started off with conflicting views on my poem,

and then he showed me how kind he was.

He brought smiles and laughter to my face,

with beautiful and talented poetry.

A person not looking for,

fame or attention,

instead he was more of .....someone like me.

Someone who has served us in the US military,

my friend who I have fallen in love for!

To this person I owe most everything too,

the sweetest most passionate man,

I owe you my life!

Thank you Dave Ochs!

Author notes

This is dedicated to the person I owe so much too; Dave Ochs. Someone I hope I NEVER loose.....well whatever we have.*big grin*

OPINIONS...ANYONE? I do !!!! I want them even if they're down right mean!

Lol. I guess everyone else has said it! He is the man. wish this site gave awards for it! Then again, this poem may make he very popular!

Nice job. Not only is the message great and true, but the poem is awesome and well written!

    Good

You are not mean - you are grateful which few people unfortunately now-a-days are. Your poem is a good reminder - never let the good virtues like gratefulness die.

You guys been in the military??? Don't you wish the army people weren't stereotyped to be anything but poets.

I havent read many of your poems. But I have of Dave. And I agree with that

"He brought smiles and laughter to my face,
    with beautiful and talented poetry."

Thats definitely true for his poems. Infact someone had actually plagiarized and posted his poems in some other community taking credit for them!!! And then those dags and cats poems which had sparked a huge poetic war on SP!!!

Oh yeah... Dave has sure made a footprint on this site...

Awwwww, what a sweet tribute for a sweet guy. It's nice to know that someone else sees beyond his wiseguy persona.

We all hope never to lose him.

    Cheers to you both!

kudos to you and to dave!

i am also one of dave ochs fans but i have never made such meaningful tribute as you have done. if only there are more people like you, who always show their appreciation of others in profound ways, there will be more happy people in the world.

i commend you for what you did. this is such a wonderful prose that speaks of david's other self but that does not mean that we like his other self less, because that side is the one that has been entertaining us always.

i am giving you three applauses for this.

    hey brook

this is one of the best poems I've ever read and I'm not being biased here as I'd never compromise my poetic integrity and reserve criticising a poem if i thought it deserved it.

    your awesome!!!

      Davey

If there was only another way I could show how much I appreciate everything you've done and how much i actually care. Yes there's just something about you! I know it seems retarted and strange but I really do! I dunno Davey....I just wish there was something else I could do. This just doesn't "satisfy" me. There has to be a way that I can show you how much I have fallen in love with you!

      Love Brooklyn

You've fallen in love with that bum?

(only joking, NY; just a quip, dave). Although not really a poem, this one is heartfelt prose - and, it's truthful. The guy's a gem.
