one more day

It was 3a.m. when
you woke me up
you told me to come with you
I said ok got up and got into the car
we drove until we could
drive no more
thinking about our lives
and how they would change
very quickly
wondering if we would ever
get that one more day
before either one of us died
I looked at you and
asked if you loved me
you said yes
and asked me the same
I said
"yes of course i do"
I asked if you thought we would
be together for one more day
I asked for just one
more day with you
It happened
just for one more day
