A Country Stroll

Woolly-coated quadrupeds I met one day while rambling,
As I negotiated a verdant meadow as I went gaily ambling
Through cowslips and foxgloves and the sheep who ran amok
And I cried out “O creatures stay I did not intend to shock -
You beasts have no need to fear me, I wish for you to know it,
I'm a pacifist an environmentalist and a nature loving poet.
I love you all, every mighty ram, each ewe and cuddly lamb,
I mean no harm to any of you, I'm so damn nice I really am.”
Later at dinner in a country inn my own words perforce I eat
"O tender lamb you're truly sweet, and such a treat to meet."

Please tell me what you think
