Blank.

I have
Written
Every
Poem I can
Think of.
And I no
Longer have any
Ideas for
A new poem.
So
Maybe I will
Just leave this
Piece of
Paper blank.

Please tell me what you think

    A poet's worst nightmare

Almost all actors will report on a variation of a dream in which they are trying to get to a stage but not remembering in what play they are performing or what any of their lines might be.

I think you have succinctly captured the nightmare of the poet - staring at blank paper with no words, images, or rhymes to break up the monotony of the blank white space.

What the poet's emotion is at that moment you have left to the individual reader. I find that very clever allowing the reader to react as they might in the same circumstance.

I like your approach very much.

      Thanks Eosmia,
Im glad you like it. This poem was an experiment built on frustration and most people get it completely.
Im glad you get the Poets Nightmare bit. I saw a hilarious short play called the Actors Nightmare.
      Thanks,

    Inspiring ...

Quite the paradox: I am inspired by the stripped words.

    piece of blank paper
and words waiting to be found
    unwritten this night

    Thank you.

This is irony: a poem written about not being able to write---nothing but a blank paper. But i think the thought of being able to say everything and running out things to say is scary for me as a poet. Does that mean life has stopped? Its stagnant. Interesting thoughts for a short poem

Wow, the rhythym of this is good. Only you would be able to write a poem about not being able to write! Hey, can you read my new poem My Kind Is Alone In the World ?
