Expeditions [2]

Expeditions of life
are journeys of entombed knowingness,
with hope carefully embraced.

As reflections of confrontations

lay bare the guarded soul,

the urge for gentleness struggles.

Occurrences relived

replace death's breath with

freedom's thought.

Forgiveness' peace

fortifies strickened heart

reforming expeditions into journeys.

Please tell me what you think

    Greetings, Frans.

I'm a bit rushed today, so I'll have to be brief. Your second take on your friend's journey is appealing to me. Its weaving of the inner evolution of confrontations into forgivenesses through the struggle for gentleness. "...replaces death's breath with / freedom's thought" is very fine writing for me to enjoy.

And I like the match of the poem's first three words with its final three words: "Expeditions of life" - "journeys of fortitude." Very nice.

I think you want "replace" instead of "replaces". Minor.
