The World of Words lettered in gold that form a piece of art
Knowledge and Values of a society that he rejects or loves
Puncturing words that carry the power of change
Branches of a world of imaginations that even carry warnings
A fresh flood of tears of one’s time spilling the contents
Of one’s state of mind, a feeling, a truth, even anger,
Even some part of one’s history, a protest and a promise,
Broken promises just needing to be heard
In his or her own written words
It is a story of powerful passion and honor,
Even connotations of sexual love
A souls disbelief even their dismay
Pouring out feelings on antiwar
Some are just artificial written without affect
It is a letter felled with nothing more than lies
Just sentiments from one’s heart, strength of one’s feelings,
Their insecurities and their pleasures
Just Simple words setting a scene here on one’s earth
In The World Of Words Lettered In Gold

Hi, drmvalley. Right off the bat, I like this poem about the power of true poems that don't lie, but are "just sentiments from one's heart, strength of one's feelings...", if they're done in a disciplined way, as your poem is here. Nice work.
I like the way the poem goes through a detailed list of sentiments that a good poem needs: knowledge and values, rejected or loved; imagination; protest or promise; passion or honor; even sexual love; strong feelings about war's absurdity; insecurities and pleasures. I believe you're right: all those very human realities are what a good poem needs if it's going to be "lettered in gold."
And I admire the format of three-line stanzas; they work well in a poem about poetry; even the subtle rhymes in lines work too - natural rhymes. And that "setting a scene here on one's earth" is, among many others, a very fine line to read, for me.
All in all, I think the poem itself makes its subject real because it has all the things that the poem says will make a good poem. I enjoyed this. Welcome to the site.
