Saying SORRY

SORRY

Iconic word -
liberates emotively,
meaningful
for all its abstractions.
Focused
shades of meaning
calling us
to healing
nationally.

Patient word –
past forever distant,
yet always with us.
Future
a mere step away,
but undisclosed
hoped for,
humbly.

Cyclonic word -
bringing winds of change.
Some take shelter
and are uprooted,
ceaselessly.
Others build
wind-farms of belief,
harnessing power
which they
channel creatively
into other generations.

Iconic word -
certainly,
yet driving ever forward.
A moment profound,
significant,
truly spiritual,
uniting those who would
break with
sins historic.

Sorry –
has been
no simple word
to say
with sincerity.

from beloveds and family to coutries and biggies, nothing is more powerful and ego satisfying than a single 'Sorry'... The simple word, as gG pointed out ends with 'WHY' and leaves a question 'WHY NOT'... it satisifies not only EGOs but also wounded hearts...
Only lately I read an article about Aussie's SORRY and I'm glad that it gives me a good read....
    Thanks for sharing, G...
It would be more suitable, if the ultimate stanza starts with 'Ironic word'...

    Love

    Sorry Is A Four-Letter Word

with WHY at the end. It is about time! The abduction of so many children has ripped the guts out of aborigine communities. But now that sorry has been said will recompence be forthcoming I wonder?
A few years back I was at an exhibition in Oslo of the aborigine artist Gorden Bennet which was incredibly poignant - quite heartbreaking. Your swift response in poetic form is commendable Mr G. I enjoyed the "Iconic word" etc starts to each stanza, perhaps stanza 4 might utilise "Ironic word" as the longer litigation takes to achieve compensation the fewer litigants remain alive to receive payouts.
Well, now its the Brits turn to apologise to Ireland (and a host of other places), Japan to Korea, the USA to Cuba, the Catholic Church to Cathar Languedoc etc etc ad nauseum.
    Cheers

i thought you'd be able to appreciate this one, Cindy.

i think it's always important for us poets to transcend our own little lives and comment on the lively world around us.

      great work here, JG.
