Moonfaced she glides through nightmare town.
Cheshire cats blink impishly down,
Multiple images hurtle around
The moonfaced lady in her star-streaked gown.
Winds whisper, “Who goes there?”
Lamplight plays mutely with her fibril hair.
Glossolalia voices echo, “Where?”
Furtive shades warn, “Take care, take care.”
A mist for a moment wandered astray.
An image of night, the travelers say.
A story goes she beckons lovers away,
When nocturnal hours fade to day.
Lady Nyx with madmen strolls
After evening vesper’ tolls,
Moonfaced she glides without a sound
Lovers are lost and never found.

< Thanks for taking the time
I don't know if I really relate very well to this poem. Sometimes I am just teaching myself a new style or playing with new words. The poem is usually okay technically but is rather cold and distant as this one is.

I didn't know what/who Lady Nyx was either and like Caliente i read up. This poem really uses the simple rhyming sceme well. I'm not usually a big fan of fantasy works, but i make an exception with this because its not too forced like alot of stuff is. favourite part - probably the penultimate stanza.
