She Never Looked Back...

She walked down this road,
So long ago,
A long forgotten day;
I remember everything.
How she was indescribably slow,
How she never said goodbye,
How the tears ran down her face,
How she never uttered a sound,
How sad she looked,
How her head hung down,
How defeated she seemed,
How scared she appeared,
But there's one thing I will never forget,
No matter how hard I try,
The tiniest little detail:
How she never looked back.

Author notes

My inspiration for this is from the story of Lot's wife in the Bible, how she looked back and changed into a pillar of salt...well, in mine, since its for teenagers, it had a more in depth look at that...ha.
