Why do I think of the right thing to say,
two minutes after my chance goes away?
The perfect retort, laced with some wit.
A brilliant response that shakes them a bit.
A subtle little slam or a thought-provoking phrase,
an encouraging word, or a Bible verse praise.
If I could cause time to pause for a while,
I'd weave words together with grace, and with style.
But thoughts don’t seem to flow from my head,
they go through some time-delayed process instead.
Most think I’m quiet, I just need them to stay,
about two-minutes longer, so I'll know what to say.

Ha, nice!!!
This is so me too! Haha, I always come up with the best stuff to come back with minutes after the ordeal is over.
This is great. It's funny, can relate to people, and is written well. Poetry wise, it has good flow and tone.
good job,
Ashley
