Their Choice, Her Fate

They killed her beautiful baby girl
It is only revenge she seeks
She only left briefly in search of food
her new baby was getting weak

She hunted swiftly and gracefully
The air felt so good on her wings
Her wing span 50' across
The wind in her ears, it sings

Guiltily enjoying this fantastic flight
because the baby was in the den alone
unknowing the the horrid tragedy
that is unraveling in her home

Upon return expecting a tender greeting
but only death, destruction, and cold dead eyes
In the darkness chill of the air
everyone hears her screams and cries

The sight of her innocent baby
so cruelly torn apart and mangled
Her wings stabbed to prevent flight
her feet tied up and tangled

The towns people know what they have done
horrible actions against a different beauty
They'll face the wrath of this mother dragon
maddening revenge, her only duty

She spreads her mighty golden wings
taking off in an irrational flight
There is nothing stopping her
not even the blackness of night

Every child in the town burnt alive
It was quick and easy in her hate
She hears the cries and screams
and can only think of her baby's fate

Now years later in her shame she hides away
haunted by the innocent children's voices
Her enemy, the murderous humans, only furious
not realizing their inhumane choices.

Much luv to the animal lover!!! ^.^

This is great. The tale is nice, it flows, it has great meaning. I like, I like. Plus, it brings up a very important issue, in my opinion.

I also liek this because not many people take the view of an animal.

    nicely done,
    Ashley
