On seeing an urban fox

I saw this feral urban fox,
Foot in our suburban yard
Wild life in my townie box
We both stared long and hard.
Unlike some of a thuggish bent
I always liked our British fox,
Would not set hounds upon their scent
But appreciate those reddish locks.
For me this time was time well spent
As we took each other’s measure,
A town and countryside alliance
That for me had been a pleasure.

Thanks Steve for commenting on my fox poem, very much. We share our world with them and have all the power, we should have a protective and uncruel oversight of their general welfare IMO. Frank

Nice rhyming scheme! I'm glad you didn't try to hurt the fox - that shows a kind nature. Did he ever come back? Did you leave food out for him?
I liked this poem. It had good description and a good rythem to it. Good job!

      Fellow fox supporter

Thanks lady for fox support & liking this. They do OK for food in our city as refuse bags are easy to rip open. Cheers Frank.

    hey frank

from your other poem i see a new style emerging. very relevant as i heard they outlawed the fox hunt where everyone knows its a british tradition. but i think foxes are cool too. they should change to wild boars. anyway well done.

      Thanks Dave

Cheers for comment this has been a cause - in the UK the special interest group trying to get the ban lifted is called the Countryside Alliance so another pun in my poem BTW I slipped in and may go unnoticed. I like to switch style as I suppose you do too. Frank
