To Be A Child

To be a child again…
What would it be like?
Would I play with Barbie and Ken
Or go to town center by bike?
Would I build a castle out of sand
Or beg my mom to bake me a treat?
Would I run my own lemonade stand
Or run up and down the street?

Or would I be different than I used to be?
Would I go back to fix some mistake
That way I could surely guarantee
That tonight regret won’t keep me awake…

No, I wouldn’t change one thing
I’d have fun and act so carefree
Because what did mistake bring?
It shaped who I am; it made today’s me.

    Wow

Thats an astounding thought as to how it would be to be a child again..Thats something I have been all the time wondering about..a very supreme thought on a higher level, the world would be a heaven precisely... a wonderland if all of us were like child ourselves..Thanks for sharing in that fantastic poem..

I agree I would not change anything either, it is thought provoking as I have had these thoughts myself. Well thoughtout with lovely wording. The only thing I would have done different is that I would have split the first verse into two.

    wonderful! :-)

I really like this poem. It hits me for sure. I sometimes wonder, as well, what it would be like to go back and be a child again. It seems as though it was so carefree... and it was. hehe but then I wonder if I would want to leave what I have today. It isn't much... but do I want to go through the tough times again to get here?

    Great!

Perfect words! Clear, concise... great job! Childhood really is the best, so that's why I'm holding onto it so much. Like the old saying, "Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional." Anyways, lovely poem!
