You Can't Have That - Ode to a Tomato

I’m craving tomatoes lately
Because they cause salmonella
Maybe that’s also the reason
I wanna hug on someone’s fella

We only want what we can’t have
Is this a modern human trait?
Do we not desire something
Until we know it’s too late?

This shows a certain leaning
To enjoy our own frustration
Looking back on life’s path
And feeling dissatisfaction

Why can’t I want a tomato
When it’s safe for me to eat
Would that remove the danger
Of wanting a forbidden treat?

  • Haha, this is amusing. It's cool how you have used the whole tomato thing in the same virtue as banging a taken man.

Anywho, this flows and it kept me locked in. Your pending on a good question in the end and I would actually love ot hear the answer myself.

    Nicely done,
    Ashley

I've often found myself wondering the same thing. Always looking for something to push the limits seems to be the human way, but I suppose its why we've made it to where we are.
Good read I enjoyed it, keep up the good work!
