Night at the Beach

The summer breeze
Blows against my face.
The sand
Is a warm blanket
To my feet.
I close my eyes
Sucking in the humid air
Like a leech.

The seagulls caw overhead
Becoming fainter
As they return to their nests
For the night.
The distant screech
Of playful dolphins
Echoes from the sea.

A salty aroma drifts
From the calm waves.
It beckons me closer
But I don’t dare –
Sharks are heading out
For their nighttime hunt.

I rest my head
On the soft grains of sand.
The glow of the full moon
Stares me in the face.
An endless sea of stars
Light up the black sky above.

My mind pulls away
From the busy, conscious world
As I take in the sights
At my night at the beach.

    xD

Reminds me of the good ol' summers I'd spend in Puerto Rico. Thanks for that AC. It brought to the good ol' times. There aren't many nice summer beaches where I live.

Oh, Puerto Rico? AWESOME! I bet it's better then Florida, beachwise.
