As I rise and shine
the morning is fine
tis time to start splashing
to sort out the washing
Then its off to town
to spend a few pounds
but the library's free
lots of books for me
Irish haunted homes
where ghosts, they roam
cause they love affecting
the unsuspecting
Then murder mystery
but what's the history
that turned the priest
into God-awful beast
who killed the maid
with the Master's blade
then hid the dagger
as they bagged and tagged her
Now its Scottish clans
I hold in my hands
as my need to know
continues to grow
From where do I hail?
Are there stories and tales?
ancestors unravel
their routes of travel
low and behold
when all is told
the fabric of me
is plain to see
then its off to maths
jeez I'm feeling daft
as the value of x
makes me say 'oh feck'
and the value of y
makes me want to sigh
but I'll persevere
and conquer my fears
so I can teach others
without the bother
that maths can be fun
when all's said and done
then its home to my honey
who's caring and funny
he'll brew up some tea
specially for me
cause my day's been long
but don't get me wrong
I had lots of fun
and got so much done
so ain't my life grand
I'm holding the hand
of the one for me
as he makes my tea

Aww Kitty ....
.... I love a good debate - I used to feel the way you do about maths but numeracy can be great fun when taught the right way - I am studying to be a numeracy tutor at the minute and I really want to make learning numeracy fun

That's cool.. I'd really love to get back into it.. and cure the fear.. my mind just goes blank... But it's a needed tool to get on in this world.. good luck to you.. the world needs more math teachers making it not so daunting.. and actually make it enjoyable
