Fall sings my favorite song
And I have front row seats
To the musical of the year
Golden-green pignut hickory
Comical red perssimons
Rustily pinked dogwood
And fragrant and free fir
Each its own tune
To play, each its own
Note to hold.
A dramatic pause
As dressy leaves
Walk the stage for
The ballet that
Waited through the
Dormant Spring

Impressive, as usual.
Such wonderful description. I love the picture you have painted with your words. I can imagine the trees with all their wonderful colors swaying and creaking in the wind. The last stanza is my favorite. I have always enjoyed watching the leaves twirling in the wind. That was an incredible way of describing it. As usual I was not dissapointed. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I thought that this poem was full of a lot of fun, and I loved the imagery you used here. The way you chose to describe fall was genius.
"As dressy leaves
Walk the stage for
The ballet that
Waited through the
Dormant Spring"
wonderful lines here, an imaginative way to express the dancing, or movement, of the leaves on the ground...just beautifully done!
