A Smile

To make the world a better place
what is it I would do?
The first thing that comes to mind
is do something nice for you.
Because if I could make you happy
that might make you smile.
Then the world would be a better place
for at least a little while!

Author notes

For all those I would love to see smile.

Very nice and sweet! It's simple and short which makes it "cute" and sincere. It made me smile and feel happy.
Good job! You really can convey alot in a few words.

      Thank you.

I'm glad you liked it. Since it made you smile it has once again done it's job. I believe that making someone smile or feel happy is is a wonderful thing to do. Sometimes it's not the length of the message but rather the thought or emotion it conveys which lends it it's strength. Thanks again.

That's simple and sweet. Something nice to memorize to say to someone and pretend you made it up and score points. Just kidding. Really, I like this very much. Very sweet and sincere. Good, clean poetry.

I'm glad you liked it. I do have it memorized and I quote it from time to time but I've never pretended to have wrote a poem for someone that I had not written for them. It's against my religion. He he he. I'd just make one up for them to score points. Thanks again.

There have been many times when the poem I was writing made me smile as I was writing it. I think there is a lot of power in a smile. I do indeed think that they are contagious. Under the right circumstances they spread like wild fire. Thanks again.

it's nice that sometimes the most simple things can be the most meaningful. if we can place a little of our happiness in others it's bound to create an echo through all the people it touches. it's starts with us, so don't be afraid to show your affections to those you care for

      Thank you,

I agree that sometimes it's the little things in life that make life worth living. I show my affections to complete strangers. I'm a very soft hearted old soul.

I'm very glad it made you smile. Because if I made you smile this poem did it's job. The world was a better place for at least a little while. I smile every time I hear that one of my poems has made someone smile. How wonderful it is to know that I can make someone happy even for a moment. Thanks again.
