Yes I would believe you if you said you were tired
Yes I'd believe you if you said you were alone
Yes I'd believe you if you said you didn't belong here
You were born into this world
A beautiful creature to crave
A monster stole your soul early
A lifetime of sadness pain sorrow
Self esteem was left on low, never able to feel safe or grow
Alcohol and drugs - the sources of immensity; a moment of superiority
A MOMENT away from yourself
Would I believe you if you said you were tired
Would I believe you if you said you were alone
Would I believe you if you said you'd lost your way
I'd say Yes. I believe that's why you're dead today
Author notes
They played Lifehouse's "Sick Cycle Carousel" at my ex-husbands memorial. I guess this is the song that he played for his relatives before he went missing a year and a half ago. He was never good with words, but used songs to express his feelings. This is what the song made me think when I listened to it (before I printed out the lyrics) and coupled it with the meaning behind what he was trying to convey.
