Edelweiss
Edelweiss
I am captivated
by your innocent splendour
among nature's untouched domain
do you lie
Amidst the
raindrops on roses
and wild geese that fly
with a moon on their wings
The strong bass voice
that sings your song
gives no credit
to your candid radiance
An ever blooming symbol of life
In the Swiss mountains
do I seek you...
For you
untouched by the evils...
Silently you sway
softly in the day
Modest I may say
For you
untouched by the evils
A quiet reminder
that there is still good
in this world
For you remain
still pure
and that I admire...
Edelweiss
Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me...
Blossom of snow
may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever...
Edelweiss
Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever...
Bless
my homeland
forever...
Author notes
I liked it myself.... For a change...

I didn't
Wow. You taking lessons from ME? That is shocking. Wow, I don't know how to put it another way - Thanks, and I'm honored.

Very Pretty
This is very well written. I like the short lines. This poem benifits from them. The second stanza was my favorite. Very well done.

i love this poem and elaboration of the innocence and hope in such a simple flower. (aren't those violets? i thought edelweiss' are white...idk though)

Thanks
Lol yeah, but there is no Edelweiss on here so... close enough. I love the 'Sound Of Music' too... Actually I wrote this while listening to the actual song. Thanks for the comment.
