Heliocentric Contemplation

Its maddening how deep it goes,
a stretch so far that no one knows.
Where nary even wind will blow.
An emptiness where nothing has a name.

A vast expanse of endless random,
with seldom circumstance in tandem,
and things too big to understand them.
How am I to see you in my narrow frame?

With dancing spheres of dust and fire,
colliding void of man's desire.
So beautiful it does inspire.
Pastel colors will never be the same.

The concept of infinite wont fit,
inside my cave so dimly lit.
with no recourse then here I sit,
with no real wisdom to proclaim.

My time's to short too know it all.
A hopeless trap in which we fall,
helpless trying to grasp and stall.
With none left but ourselves to blame.

Author notes

They finally revitalized some of the images from the 1966 space probe that took some of the first "digital pictures" and the very first pictures of earth from space. They inspired me to write about the vastness of space.

The soul parody was intended.

I like the way it starts out almost empty the images I get are just this empty black. Then it moves into this dancing ball a nova in my mind then slowly draws back to that emptiness. It gives this kind of rise and fall to the poem that really moves it forward. Very well done

    interesting

Before I read your "authors note" this piece made me think of our soul...so I reread it, it is beautiful either way I see it. I love when a poet can write about one thing but stir images of another thing. It is a gift to be able to creat such multidimensional pieces.

      Soul Parody

The term Heliocentric refers to the first belief structure that taught the fact that the universe does not revolve around earth. The soul parody was not an accident it was just inspired by a picture which made me look at our planet and therefore us as insignificant.
