Footsteps

I hear the silence whisper in my ear.
I feel my fate in what I cannot know.
I follow footsteps neither far nor near.

As nature surely is not there nor here,
But everywhere and nowhere that we know.
I hear its silence whisper in my ear.

How do we find the spirits we revere
Through the blinding blizzard and the snow?
I follow footsteps neither far nor near.

How do I know by which star I should steer?
I listen to the winging of the crow
And hear its silence whisper in my ear.

My calling comes within the darkness clear.
My mind is gone where now will I go?
I'll follow footsteps neither far nor near.

I feel the cold, it brings my new frontier.
I lie so gently covered by the snow.
I hear its silence whisper in my ear
And follow in its footsteps far and near.

How would you improve this?
