Passport Declaration

Please don’t kill me
I’m a stranger
Who represents to you
No danger
I am just a simple poet
Who loves his fellow man
And wants all to know it
I am not defined by my
Nationality
I am an individual
Possessed of a personality
This bunch of carbon
You are seeing
Belongs to me
A human being

    Ah yes...

the dehumanizing process of putting on your best "no, I am not a mass-murderer terrorist" face and getting your freedom to see the rest of humanity with a minimalized modicum of threat as guaranteed by your "terrorist free" passport seal of approval. I feel you, frank. What a world we are living in. I like the beaten resignation that sings from this peace a desire for a better world.

      Hello Dun

You were kind enough to take time to comment, it's good to meet you. I'll check your page and reciprocate. My poem written after the news from Bumbai was with the sad thought that mankind is as divided as ever. Frank
