Angry Political poem

Don’t answer with a fabrication,
I didn’t ask this in haste.
Solider, did you sign up to pay for an education,
to get out of the “untouchable” working class caste?

Youth’s loyalty has soured
but they won’t say it,
that they’d rather be a living “coward”
than a dead American patriot.

Someday the war will be over,
someday the war will be won.
Keep your rage beneath a smolder,
and take your mind off your dead solider son.

It doesn’t take a math wiz
to honestly see
that Freedom isn’t free.
Neither is Republican morality
(Arch conservativism is too expensive for me!)

Mom, CNN and McDonalds don’t lie,
Neither does EIB broadcasters.
Oh, when do I get to die
for my beloved corporate masters?

Republicans deny discontent arise
Professional 60’s refuters.
Excusing America’s biggest polluters
with reactionary corporate lies.

This isn’t America, lets all shout!
Resist the CNN propaganda news reels!
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!
The Founding Fathers wouldn’t have sold their country out,
and let their beloved ideals
turn into crap and piss.

Author notes

I was very angry when I wrote this. I'm sick of the Iraq war and how our "leaders" lie to us. Sometimes I think this country is a big fat joke.
