Do you remember a time
when God worked miracles
Everyone's eyes shone with
desire to be enlightened
When children walked
hand in hand, smiling
they were our little blessings
and the rain fell like mist
on your upturned face
You were friends with the
universe who looked
so promising
Then science replaced the Bible
"God" was being asked so many
questions, not for the sake of
enlightenment, but for the sake
of challenging him, like
nothing could be right
unless it could be proved
using the scientific method
unless it was understood
thoroughly by the humans
unless creatures like us with
simple minds could organize
the universe into charts
experiments and equations.
But God never gives up on us
Miracles can happen
and the Bible will explain science
so that creatures like us
with simple minds can
understand, children can
help each other up again
and we'll ask questions for
the sake of curiosity, the
little drops of liquid condensation
will fall on our upturned
faces, nerves and brain cells
anticipating this great
awakening.

This is about the Second Great Awakening, a religious revival in US history

I absolutly love that, it fills so well into this poem... not to mention it makes for a wonderful quote as well!

Thanks so much, wouldnt it be so neat if God and science could get along with each other for once?

I think this piece is just great,i`m amazed no one else has commented on it so far,I guess they dont know their American history or dont care much about the second great awakening but nobody can deny that its written with maturity and understanding,a lot of Christian denominations proclaim their roots in the second great awakening which encourages the spread of christianity(thanks Wikipedia)
