“How much time do we have?”
She murmurs against his lips
As he kisses her
Once
Twice
A million times
It is always like this, the time they share
The moments they extend because they dare
It is so limited, and so consuming
Both so hungry for power over
Just one moment.
When they are together
She wants time to stop, just once
So his unbelievably beautiful eyes can stare into hers
Forever as they move that one moment
Into the next.
So much passion
so, so little time
To fit the fascination inside.
Inside his arms she wishes to hide
Because there is so much to discover
So many new things about him she wants to know
So many things she wants him to know about her
But there is never
Enough time for this
All thoughts are lost within the unbelievable kiss
Inside the moment, the obliviousness to anything else but themselves
Is apparent to both of them
And she knows she’s not the only one
Who feels the moment slip from their grasp
As quickly as it comes
“How much time do we have?”
She whispers in the darkness, against his lips
While the trees shimmer outside the window, crystalline
Sheer and masculine
Like gloomy, towering emerald spies, smirking
Watching their every move.
The sun barely shines through, casting a splinter
Of blindness into the room, bathing the walls with amber waves
And the love that she craves
Blankets her body with poise.
The carpet bare underneath flawless skin
As his hands find hers
And intertwine, filling her with warmth
Laced with the love that will always exist
Born from the first time they kissed
But will never be enough
To keep that one amazing
Breath taking
Trembling moment
Inside their power.
Time ticks by, hour by hour
“How much time do we have?”
She whispers in his ear
Her voice engraved with fear
As they breathe as one
Beneath the obscured sun
Their hearts pound in their chests, wildly
After that one moment
Has passed
Too fast
The thrill of rebellion
A rule that’s been broken
One too many times
But they don’t think twice about it
They don’t regret
Everyone else is oblivious.
The time consumes them
Their breathing fills the empty room with resonance
Reverberating off the naked walls
Creating infatuation without words
Exposing feeling after feeling
Emotion after emotion
In each indulgent move that is made
They both know not to be afraid
Fulfilling desire after burning desire
Like fire
Unable to be destroyed
Something they cannot avoid
Singeing the air with the passion they create
As the night wears on.
She trembles as his fingers
Taste her
Her heart craves more, only more
“How much time do we have?”
She whispers to him, her lips caressing his
Thoughtlessly
He grazes her with his eyes, a dazzling sea green
More beautiful than anything she’s ever seen
Wild with exhilaration
Taking in every inch
Of her
Sadness filling the room as her
Question echoes blindly off the walls
Recoiling around in graceful, radiant arcs
He gazes at her
Lying beneath him
Pondering
Only wishing
That time would stop
He inhales the tension
Whispers to her
“Not enough, babe.”

Author notes
My boyfriend and I have been through so much together, and we have grown a stronger relationship from it. The passion we feel and have when we are together is amazing to me and I had to write a poem on it. Please tell me your thoughts on this poem and tell me if I need to change anything. I would appreciate the advice.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO READ MY POEM PLEASE COMMENT IT AS WELL

Poems of the heart touch many.
Love is such a strong emotion that it's hard for many not to write about it at some point. I think you've shown the magnitude and overpowering desire so spend as much time as possible with someone when you love them deeply. I like the image this paints for me. I can remember times like this though it has been many years. I'm not a fan of starting linse with And or But unless it's necessary to add a beat or connect it to the previous line. I look at the line and ask if it can stand on it's own, or if I can find another word that will replace that word or is it needed. Here is an example of one that I think could stand alone:
The time consumes them
And their breathing fills the empty room with resonance
I would leave this And off and just start the line with Their. Now this is an example of one that I would leave:
He inhales the tension
And whispers to her
The length of the line controls the impact of the message and the flow of the read. I try to keep them close to even but that's me. I'm not saying it's a rule. I've seen poets use lines of different lengths several times. Good write. Keep up the good work.
