I amuse or provoke.
I am an art form –
that makes you laugh or cry –
bringing tears to the eye.
I am intellectual
encouraging you to think.
My power emerges
from the depth of the soul.
My blood is your blood,
revealing all your desires and dreams.
I am an integral part
of your DNA..
Always arriving unpredictably –
I encompass the entire gamut
of the emotional scale.
lust, depression, love.
or humor to brighten
and lift your spirit.
I make a statement about life.
For I am life –
a literary opus
of the luminous particular
I am poetry.
