Journey (trance?)

Shine the light into the darkness,
fight the lies that try to feed us anything;
don’t believe everything.

See the steps that lay before you,
hear the whispers that avoid conscientious calls.
Please, don’t forget it all.

Through the night the moon adores you.
Shining down upon your face, it radiates;
Your beauty takes it place.

Never look at what’s behind you,
sticks and stone may make you fall onto the ground
and there’s no one around, to save you.

Close your eyes to see the calmness,
feel the warmth return into your skin again;
It shall not leave again.

Wolves will follow near beside you,
patiently they wait until you dwindle down;
your flesh can feed the crowd.

Reaching out my hands, they touch you.
Finally, you know that someone really cares,
we’re glad you’re finally there.

Sitting back onto a cloud, you
can’t believe the worst has been and gone;
you think, “I’m almost done.”

Look before you walk upon the
path you choose, the demon’s waiting for your call,
he’s there to make you crawl.

Don’t give-up on what’s not certain,
find the gift you have to make it go away,
to make another day.

Sleep to fill your soul with rest,
blind your eyes with lids of lead and dream it all.
It’s not the end.

Author notes

It's meant to be sung in a trance like way...if that makes any sense. Kind of like. . . . . . . . . Sarah Mclachlan?. . . ish

    Awesome

    I love this poem. There's just something about it that is enticing, but I don't really know what it is.
    Bravo
