The Bigger Picture

Who can say it was a conspiracy
Orchestrated by man
Alone?
Or could any human
Even manage
To set things up
With just a snap
of his fingers?
Like a rainbow
Glowing
After the storm,
Or a lightning
Flashing
Before the thunder.

Have you ever prayed
Fervently
To the point of
Compromise,
And doubted unceasingly
That there is an answer
To it all?
But it was there
All along
If you only kept silent
And listened
You will understand
That it's all there
Right in your own hands.

Did your creative mind imagine
the bigger story
Meshed
within each of these
Layered tales
Individually told?
It just waited to unfold.
Revealed itself
However
Whether you choose
To be a part of it
Or not.

Have you conquered fate
Only to discover
even that
was just a part of the
bigger picture?

    Brilliant!

I absolutely love this poem. I have fallen under its spell. I perceive you to be speaking of a Higher Power (God?) and faith in His ability to make things happen. Who are we to think man is so almighty powerful that he can make events occur all by himself? I've often found myself praying to God asking Him if only He would grant me this one request, I would in turn do something for Him, like make a deal with Him. But if we truly believe, we should have faith that He will hear our prayer and He will answer -- only sometimes the answer is "no." We must be still and listen for His reply. This is by far one of the best poems I've ever read. The message is brilliant, if only I got it right.

      hi birdie

again, i am very thankful for this comment.

A good friend/mentor, upon learning that i was caught in the middle of trouble concerning matters of the heart, wrote me a few lines which implied that conspiracies should be that of the universe's, not of humans, otherwise, there will be sorrow. This is my response to her.

My life has become snapshots of various experiences and learnings. And this, is how I see the big picture.

      Nice sharing thoughts with you.
