To Love or Not to Love
The world is simple
For things are just as they seem
Men are scum
Women are angels
This is the way things are
For life is simple
All things are black and white
There is no in between
But then I think
Of what you said that day
Those words as soft as velvet
As sweet as chocolate but
Light as snow
But no it couldn’t be
It’s no more than a ploy
For men are scum
And life is simple
Oh but that spark I saw
That glitter in your eye
Could it be?
Oh yes it must
But no
There is no possibility
For you are just another devil
Disguised as a man
The world is simple
There is only black and white
Oh but that soft touch
Your hand upon mine
A glitter in your eyes
It has to be
It is!
Forget reason
Destroy logic
The signs are unmistakable
It is love!
The world is complex

Author notes
This poem is basically trying to portray how love can twist the way we see the world around us. Right after a break up most women are inclined to believe all men are scum and nothing in the world is good, but right when they first fall in love many women see the world as a place where anything is possible and everything is good.
