No Foe Forever You

The sadness was in the knowledge
they`d be taken from us,
those small periods of time
when we understood our world
and the part we would play in it
and yes,
the people overpowered us
as we were locked up,
hospitalised,
drugged up,
excluded,
deported,
alienated from our self
and from each other
We fought with our "superiors"
with drunken rage in our souls,
we spat in the eyes of authority
but they blinded us with their presence
and never a day
since then till now,
no never a single arid day
does the tempest in my heart cease raging
for the storm in your soul
The ultimate destructive collision
of two people sane with love
but maddened with the solitude they left inside us,

Yet you, the kindest of my kind,
across a different sea now,
on land beyond my exploration
and I, lost and uncaring
living with this sadness
in the knowledge
that I allowed them to win

No foe
forever
you

Wow. I'm not sure what to say, but your words are really powerful. I like the contrast in tone between the first and second "section." Well done!
