Frogless Prince

Everyday
I'm hoping you don't notice
The way I look at you
It breaks
My heart to know you think
Things are the same

I try to stay imperceptible
You told me once not to change

It will all unravel if you see
So I hope, I pray, my poker face is enough
My fragile mask of "I don't care"'s and "There's no change"'s
Do you see?
Can you percieve,
The hopes I have that it won't stay like this?

They're unrequited
You told me once not to change
(But can't you see I have?)

The story always goes this way
Unreturned love
Girl lost in (day)dreams
While the man of those dreams doesn't notice a thing

But I guess we're better off that way
Because you told me once not to change

So I'm hoping our fairytale ending will come
Whether happily ever after or replacement Prince Charming
All I know is I never had to kiss a frog to find you
You're much better than that
...And you never had to change.
