Crossing the bitter dark zone
to the far north
I met loneliness
under a menacing sickle of moon
how sharp he was
this one who never slept
and why are you white
in this shadowy gray
why I said
wear a radiant bright robe
in the midst
of the spreading
gloom
So he said do not forget
I set my traps
in pools of false hope
It was plain from this
that beneath the soft snow
lay slippery black ice
I knew to dread
the smell of spring flowers
the sunlight falling
only to disappear
into the wasteland
How would you approve this?

Hi, I like the imagery here of darkness and hopelessness..."I knew to dread the smell of spring flowers" It also reminds me of having been hurt by someone..as in a relationship. I can sympathise with that feeling we get from meeting sociopathic kinda people that we encounter from time to time in life, and those that let us down.
A good read. Thank you.
