A Prayer

I pray to that which has existed
Since the beginning
Simply because it makes no demands
Of the awe and respect that I feel
for a power that I can't comprehend
I surrender to the process of that universe
Which no doubt serves its own purpose
And in so doing serves mine as well
My faith becomes its own reward

I pray to remain always humble
Remembering how insubstantial I am
And realizing that I am nothing but ego-ness
The suchness of nature, you, and I
Are forces springing from the same force
We are all indeed one and that comforts me
I don't feel prayer necessary for my salvation
Perhaps that's why I pray

There is always a difference between singing a prayer song and praying from heart and this one is from heart.... my opinion about prayer is , ' Pray from your heart, forget it and let God worries about it'...
This is a nice write... I liked it...
