The Proposal

I saw a proposal today,
In mid-afternoon, two souls touching
Across the way,
Across the water,
In a way they’d never touched before.

They know not their audience of one,
Watching from a distance
Their theatre of Life. Behind and
Upon Azalia blooms
With blue blanket underfoot,

I watched a rare moment,
Free from care, a fairy tale
Come true amid cruel Life.
I imagined a stage, a lovely duet
while the birds raised a chorus.

As the lone observer, I know
It is only a moment in Time,
But the love they make
Now is for them
The makings of Eternity.

So before the curtain closes
And the fairy tale ends,
I find my feet to leave.
Now, may I always
Remember them that way.

Beautiful capture of love and completeness in real life...Gives hope that they can still exist together...
