Shoe Rack

my shoe rack
stacked up in a dusty corner
with rows and rows of shoes
in different sizes and various styles
I silently observed 'em all -

I have worn several shoes from when i was small
pretty ones cute ones
ugly and smelly ones too
I did not fit into some
some hurt (cut so deep that i still have those scars)
while some were smug and comfortable
sometimes I slipped into shoes that were
several sizes bigger than my feet
I tripped and stumbled and fell
and struggled to raise up and walk again
I donned shoes that urged me to boss around
some just shut me up
some made me uncomfortable
while some added springs and leaps and bounces
to my steps
but whatever be it
I was always in some shoes
either mine
or someone else's!!
(stolen or borrowed!!)

Rumor has it you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes. (some wisdom from Forest Gump.)

I LOVE metaphor, and you seem to be a master of the art. Good work.
