Where O where , can you find a land so pure & true ,
Which has colors of saffron , green , white & blue .
This ancient land of culture & heritage ,
Which has always passed on wisdom & knowledge.
The great land mass who is mother to so many ,
Who doesn’t discriminate between any ,
Where in the north lies the Himalayan crown ,
Where in the peace & serenity you would like to drown,
The mother who’s heart is always clean ,
Who’s rivers always sparkle & gleam ,
The land of villages , the land of the hoe & plough
Where every child’s skin has a glow .
But wait my friend , there is something else ,
Here , misery & poverty dwells ,
How come is it that such a great nation ,
Has poor who don’t even have ration .
I cannot see this , please no more ,
My body , my eyes now all are sore ,
But wait , what is this , a ray of hope !!!
To pull us out of misery’s pit ,
All we need is unity’s rope .
The country is progressing , with great strides ,
To become a power who everyone will abide .
The great nation is getting what it deserves ,
For very long a time it has served .
Now is it’s moment of glory ,
When in every history will be its story ,
And I hope my friends , when I grow old ,
Enough to in my hands hold ,
The responsibility of a true Indian ,
Who will always serve his land well ,
And then I can boast to all ,
I am from India – The world’s jewel !!!!

Well the mission will be carried by the Indians only. Amybe u, me or someone else. Buyt, yes, India will progress.
After all we the people have land beneath our feet and himalaya above the head! We are blessed by the god and we shall always be blessed with someone like this.
take care of the line lenght, this is what is the problem of this epice. THe odd line lenght is spoiling the flow...Take Care

Every Indian anywhere in the world is proud of India's diversity and heritage..and its our duty to do what we can for her in any little way that we can..coz that together could make a big difference someday!
You've summed up everything in the poem, i guess it could be tightened up a bit if you dont bother with the rhyming. Else, its great to read this piece!

The poem is well written. I was extremely moved when i read lines 15 & 16.I live in here & it's hard to see my country this way with so much of misery & poverty & all that to be killed but i guess all of us together can make a lot of difference.
The poem is great, but try dividing it into verses. It will hit Harder then!!

ok now which line am i supposed to like if each and every line is so fascinating....
i like ur poems because ur also in the awarness campaign.i also try to make people aware but i write on social and emotional issues.well ur just too good.ur use of language is excellent.wonder if english was created by u or for u bcos ur use of it is exceptional.i often write in newpapers about our country's state.they have been published twice in The Times Of India,student edition.but there has been no response from a single student in my city.this shows nobody is bothered about our country.only th eoldies are otherwise our country would be shining brighter than any star.....our country is so fascinating but no one wants to discover it! our country is full of resourcees but peopple waste it! whats the point in us writing if the actual blockheads dont read it....this is why i dont ever want to write about my country.i will try to read out ur poem to as many people as possible.i hope it will be inspirational.

well when i was in india ... yeah like u said ... i took everything for granted and didnt care much bout the country . but when i came 2 canada i realized its importance and the need 2 uplift it . im doin my bit from here and hope u do publish my poem . i 'll owe u one .
i guess the government should make a program to shift all indians abroad and then bring them back when they realize the imortance of their motherland .

You have paid a well worded tribute to this great land of ours. As a young generation I understand to good extent, the need for all of us to take a small step each. But do you understand, how much of a jewel this nation of ours is? It is much more than what is understood by a common Indian. Don't you think that India is a concept rather than a country, on which dwells the fountain head of spiritualism. That we are progressing in the material world, no doubt! But it is the grandeur of our spiritual history that makes me proud to be born in this land.
A very well written poem indeed.
