Defining Love

Forever
Lost in the warmth
Which is your heart
Mentals touching
Bursting into sweet content
Then your eyes
Share your depth
They share your longing
To surpass the glance
Steal my heart, I beg
Promise me yourself
Follow words with truth
For I have found myself
Tangled in your veins
Unable and unwilling
To be freed
Swimming in your life blood
I have been yours
Since your thoughts were of me
Since my eyes tasted you
I drank you in
You and I became
Us, we
Together
Till hoped eternity
Two into one
They said it can not be
But, we are
Existing in and of our own reality
Traveled not the path
Which divides
Better, the path
Which need not mend
For together
Is forever
In you and I
Which is Us
Forever

    Passionate, Romantic, and Intriguing

I can say real love exists, because I have experienced it, and I continue to experience it everyday - through my wife, son, and my relationship with God.

This poem is very intimate.  I feel the ecstasy of two bodies uniting in love and passion.  I can tell this came from your heart and your greatest fantasies.  If you have yet to experience this in your life, I know you will soon.  If you love as passionately as you write, then there is nothing you can't achieve.

Oh, and just so you know.  I think your "Author's Notes" are just as beautiful and poetic as all of the other works of yours I've read.  Well done.

      Thank you so much!

Thanks for the view and comment and thank you for the beautiful and much appreciated compliment.  I did believe that I had experienced real love.  Took me eleven years to escape.(ha)I had given up after this, but realize if God wills it then I shall welcome it, again.  I am very happy to hear that real love exist in your situation.  Anything near my parents is beautiful. (43 years together) "Now why didn't that rub off on me?"  Ha (smile) I was blessed with four beauties from it all.

Thanks in bunches for the kind comment and may you and yours continue to be blessed.

For some reason, my comment posted twice.  This is just to get rid of the duplicate post.

I do believe real love exists, it's logical really, it doesn't have to be anything metaphysical or up there in the ethos, it being physical just makes the world more amazing, that such feeling could arise from atoms.

There were parts of this which were really different (which is always great when writing about love) such lines 13-16 about veins and blood, there's a lot of symbolism in blood when it's brought poems, I interpreted this as meaning that you were truly part of him, of his life and not being able to withdraw yourself from love, that was slightly profound.  There were plenty of other little bits I thought were interesting such as "since my eyes tasted you" but this comment is turning into a ramble.

      Thank you

for your comment and subtle advice.  Always good to hear that life has not stolen the hope of real love from every heart.  Seems you understood my choice of words just fine.  Thanks again for the view.

    great poem

I liked this poem. I especially liked lines 17 through 22 and how they showed that you belonged together since you first met. Great poem. Keep writing.

    Quite trilling!

I only have one thing against you - punctuation! Since you capitalised the beginning of every line... or what do you think? ..........
Anyway, it is characteristically beautiful. Super!
Keep feeding our hearts with such delectable delectation. Yes true passion, true love, still exists. It's only scarce.
    Boldness.

      Thanks

For the view and comment.  I appreciate your non brutal, honesty.  Though I need critiqueing, I still desire inspiration and you are very well layered.
For the Capitalization, I attempted to do otherwise, but found that I wasn't satisfied. With the emotions of this piece, I desired to give strength in beginnings followed by my depth only to find strength again, if that makes any since.  It is my desire in true love that caused that choice.  Thank you for answering my question.  I am beginning to believe as you do, but it took me a time to get where I am.  I thank you for your time, words and your inspiration.

Since I haven't been in love it, I do believe real love exists but at the same time sometimes I'm like I don't know what to think anymore.  I liked a guy friend of mine for almost three years and this year I just realized he wasn't worth wasting my time over.  I was so heartbroken and ended up crying every night practically.  So that's why I feel that way about real love sometimes.
Great job on the poem though.

      Thanks for reading

I am glad you enjoyed the poem, but dismayed that you haven't enjoyed this feeling.  I thought I did, I came to believe that it was mostly one sided.  But the fantasy was bliss.  I hope one day I might open the door to this kind of love.  Thanks again for the read.

    excellent poem

I do really believe that real love does exist and I have my one and only love in my life. There was not a single part in the poem that I did not think was least but everything was so meaningful feelings and words. THe poem says it all how you really deeply love a person. The title does fit in the poem. Excellent write.
