Candy-apples

Smoke damage is such a mess
and it smells
no-one ever mentions that about hell
or the dead fireworks in the garden
of Eden
They went off with a bang
and looked pretty for about five seconds
now they just stink
think how they’re sold
excitement for the half-witted
the duped and the bull-shitted
who’ve been fitted up
sold this pup
cheap champagne in a paper cup
the damp squib of the fib
next!
roll up , roll up
all the fun of the fair
next morning it simply isn’t there
nobody cares
except the kids who think they missed something
all they missed was anti-climax
but try telling them that.
dinner’s on the table
but they want candy-apples.
I hate candy-apples.

    candy apples...yum

    i like the rant style and passion and i like anti-message, but hey man, back away from candy apples. i cannot take intolerance towards candy apples.

      yeah , I actually quite like them too but it didn't go with the rant. I'm hoping to get my poetic license renewed but I've got some rolling violations pending . What's 'anti-message? Thanks for reading and commenting as always.  My Best    >W<

          So 'anti-text' is like the hidden meaning ? There is one here of course but its not religious even though there are some biblical references. I'm afraid it's a little more base - but I won't relieve you of your more noble illusions! What each person gets from a poem varies - thats how we get away with so much! Thanks for coming back Dave - I'll message you the inside story if you feel you 'need' to know.

      I'm as innocent as the day is long ( the shorter it gets the less innocent I get!) and no-one ever suggested that THIS little bird needed spanking! As for your taste for strawberries
      I might have guessed you'd like THEM
      big ones no doubt -
      with cream or ice-cream
      do you dream about them
      just now and again
      do you like them
      like you like your men
      a little hairy and cool
      or strawberry fool perhaps
      do you sometimes
      get them in a jam
      like this one
      where am
      I gonna go with this
      I should desist
      this little fruit
      should get out
      while the growing's good
      but dont say I didn't try
      to do your bidding
      and remember -
      only kidding!
