have you felt pain so bad that you actually cry your eyes out because of it? i do. i have ulcerative colitis and i experience high intensity abdominal pains. it's exasperating because it gets in the way of my writing, which i do for work and for expressing myself.

does philosophy help at all?
I always wondered whether if i was in a lot of pain, I could re-map it to something else.On my cross country running team as a kid, we used to say "it doesn't hurt, it tickles".
I'm wierd though, the kind of person that sits and scares at a big cut from falling and pokes at it to see what it feels like

My friend has colitis too, it seems like its pretty nasty
I hope you get your pain under control!More pain != more need to express through poetry?

thanks for the concern and the suggestion…i do try to distract myself at times when the pain gets so bad. i just tell myself that it's a bad case of gas. sometimes it works, on other times, it doesn't because the pain just gets so bad.
but, yeah…being in pain has made me write again. i didn't have the time before to write because i was so busy with newswriting but now that i am doing features, writing poems is starting to come back to me. the 4 poems i posted in sharepoetry have been written lately. i hope you get to read them.
