I think it excels
in the dispelling of any cry-pants fears of mediocrity. I think it's neato.
Your poll has accurately explicated the very cross section of what you question. Such existential meanderings of the mind are best left to those yawning, lazy moments of the mind when one has nothing better to do, such as now. Hmmmm...you may have a point...

Thank you, Plum!
Like anybody else, I would say: it is never too late to agree with me! Or to disagree... whatever! Bye, smart-(fill in with whatever you wish). -

Hmmmmmm....I think I'll go with smart_____
-ish super-duper poet fella. Yeah...that sounds good to me...
Thank you, Custodio. This pleasant exchange has once again affirmed to me the value of courteous and restrained internet communications. May Greek/American diplomatic ties continue to robustify in these ocean spanning endeavors that reach across the cultural divide and unite us both in common, yet snootified smart-assedness. This has been a lovely literal exchange and made my lazy Sunday at home all the much more worthwhile.
HERETE(sorry, I don't have greek text support),

To...
suffuse this topic with animous reply to the survey you have so orchestrated without the maturity of the soul placed within so many poets, "are you always such a d*****bag?" Mediocrety, my not-even-close-to friend, lies in thick layers upon your meaningless words, the only thing giving them slight weight. This post has cause my perusing of your so-called critique that I like to view as bashing. Literary geniuses bless us with the simplicity of what I am about to say if you are finding yourself too "high and mighty" for this humble site; "F**k off, and find another site filled to bursting with literary @$$holes such as yourself."

Hey Renji,
Custodio's an all right sort, he just gets a little highfalutin' sometimes, and well...that's hard not to do when you're a suave, sophisticated Greek god with the mediocre masses as an eternal wedgie in the ass-crack of your ginormous Grecian ego. We can't help that we're so beneath him. Please join me in bowing before his mighty, mediocrity mediating shadow and perhaps he may be appeased. He's already been offered a fair maiden and since, he's been silent. We must wait with bated breath for Olympus to unwreath it's secrets as to our lowly status once more. Until then, I'm gonna write somethin'...

Nonsense!
That's rude! -
-
I suppose...
but when I balanced it all out on the Grand Scales of life the fun factor outweighed the courtesy factor two to one and I was overcome by the preponderonce of teasing fun potential. I just haddadoit. Sorry, Custodio. We've made our peace before, I know. But it's still fun to give you a literary wedgie from time to time.
Sorry, Custodio.

Hey al
the line, that's hard not to do when you're a suave sophisticated Greek god with the mediocre masses as an eternal wedgie in the ass-crack of your ginormous Grecian ego, is about a brillant a line I've ever read and even Zues, and Athena sitting on a cloud bank high above Olymupus, peering down at us mere mortals would have to agree.

Who is Zues?
I don't know who is Zues?

hahahahahahahahahhahaha...
I had the most fun writing it dave, and yes...it's all mine.
You know what? I half-ass was glad to see Custodio getting it on with his ego because I've been bored as Hell lately. I kinda miss those days of assholes(Custodio's a limp proxy) running about this site(me included) because it fired me up to just let 'er rip right from the heart. I enjoy writing most at these times. Concocted, carefully manufactured bull**it just bores me to tears. I think some of my favorites of yours came from that time and to tell you the truth, I was glad to see someone punkin' it. Damn, I'm bored...
Thanks, dave. Hey, I wonder what fun it would be to have a "roast" section here on this site. I worry that egos would be bruised but it sure would be a helluvalotta fun. I just loooooove teasin'...
Cheers, dave.

"Damn, I'm bored..."
Bonnie and Clyde started that same way... -

Cheers, Custodio.

yeah al
those where the good ol days. i truly believe that real rancor and animus are a writers greatest impetus.
the roast is a good idea but you have to pull your literary punches.
