UNESCO World Heritage Sites

    Has anyone ever been to a UNESCO world heritage site? ( http://whc.unesco.org/en/list ) Ever planned a trip just to visit one?

    I ask because recently(July 7) the Joggins Fossil Cliffs (Joggins, Nova Scotia, Canada) were added to the list. I grew up about three kilometers from the cliffs, and spent more time in the summer swimming there, and nearby Lower Cove, and collecting fossils than I did at home. It's sort of strange to see it on a fascinating list like this.

    Last time I was there, it was just a beach... next time I go, I'll be stepping foot on a UNESCO Heritage Site. Anyone else live near a site, and find a huge difference after it being added to the list?
