I am not a poet.
I am nothing near a poet.
I am apprehensive about poetry.
I try to write poetry.
I try to enjoy life.
I try to prioritize love.
I love to learn.
I love to be a skeptic.
I love my Graciegirl.

My inspirations:
Dave Matthews,
Grace,
and especially my brother, Eric.

I love when people leave me comments.
Thanks

"our minds complete a gorgeous jigsaw and definitely complement each other" thats a beautiful way to say it, and youre very lucky.

ha its really quite difficult to offend me. i favor people that are extremely blunt and dont hold back for feelings sake. i think men are better at that then females, youre a guy would you agree with that? guys seem to just say whats on their minds but girls speak in riddles.

it sounds like you met some butthead fire and brimstone preacher. when i meet people on the street screaming into a megaphone about DAMNATION and HELL FIRE ha, i have the impulse to grab their megaphone and run. its ridiculous. the gospel is called the Good news for a reason, its supposed to be Good. inspiring hope and purpose in lives, not fear.

im so insanely sleepy right now. id love to hear your thoughts though, whenever your around here. ha.

    peace. kt

thank you for the kind words. yes your interpretations were right, but that poem had so many thoughts and different emotions in it that i dont think i could explain it even if i had all day.

as for your writing, you absolutely are a poet. "i wish a wish..." the idea was brilliant, sometimes its a good thing we dont get what we wish for, its likely we'll get something much better down the road.

"why not just say it?" well said. exactly my thoughts. poetry isnt supposed to be difficult, you shouldnt have to strain to find rhymes and destroy your work for the sake of rhythm. ridiculous.

from little hints in your writing you seem to have known God once and maybe arent as close? im sorry if that was a wrong assumption, correct me if im wrong. but im curious what it was that turned you off to religion and god and everything? these things interest me, if youd rather not say then i promise not to bother you.

and i hope you and grace find lots of happiness together. =D

    peace kt

    Windhover,

You make a valid point. I don't mean to encroach on the objective this website, either. I apologize to anyone who feels this "poem" is out of place by being posted here. However, I hope readers can appreciate the question presented therein, and it actually seems to myself that my unconscious ambition to this write was to stimulate an academic debate. I also agree that I don't at all have a firm position on this topic. That is a primary reason that it was posted. In order to make people think and develop input, though, I had to present the counterargument, whether authorized by conviction or not.
