My life is probably the most interesting thing in the world, which is where I pull a lot of my material from. I've been taught to open my eyes to the world, and never close my mouth when someone was speaking false words. After being pushed towards success, and kicked when I was down, I found this guy I liked quite well - me. My favorite quote in the world comes from my least favorite book in the world, A Tale of Two Cities. "Tell the Wind and Fire Where to Stop...But Not Me."

Thanks for the comment! Btw, i've intentionally left the 2nd line uncapitalized on each. Thanks though!

The poem is an overall way of saying to live, because opportunities are limitless.. The leaves are opportunities, for so many will come and none will ever be cherished. Yet Cherish, which is also a name (also hitting on a trend of using a verb as a noun, done throughout literature and poetry alike), is something we rarely do with the beautiful things in life. We let them slip away day after day.
The woods (society/life) often gobbles up every last thought that we have, and we find ourselves lost in this area with no friend or voice of our own. There is no honesty, but everyone trying to stab one another in order to climb that ladder of success. It's there for everyone, simply waiting. Sometimes we just need the cloke taken from over our eyes, or those trees chopped that once blocked the view, in order to see what our true path may be.
A farmer of Land represents the youth, which no wall shall ever stop. We shall always explore and fight for what we want. Our hammer is the determination we show every single day by waking up and using our voice (ex: our right to speak as a poet, or a mad man).
As for the father aspect, most children raised close to their father will always keep his words and ways with them. The youth is realizing all along that his father always told him he'll be able to be whoever he wanted to be. Sadly some people will never remember this advice until it comes time to fall into that family plot and bid farewell to this wonderful world. However, this youth has realized what he had early enough in life, and lived it to the fullest. The youth wasn't afraid to take those opportunities, and will die a satisfied being.
