i dont want to seem OTT but...
you know what? i didnt fully appreciate the accuracy of this comment before - you've actually got it spot on! youve understood all of it, and misunderstood none of it - it dont think it has any deeper meaning, really. but yes the flower is symbolic, i wasnt sure if people would get that.

brian balzer is right! this is brilliant for something you wrote randomly. the fact that it doesn't have a strict form gives more focus to the subject matter. i really liked what you were saying, especially as i understood all the references like 'summun bonum' etc (cos i'm studying philosophy and ethics) and also because im not very materialistic at all, and agree with what you put across.the first stanza is excellent- the best, in my opinion.
unlike Grace O Malley, i knew what the message was before the end of the poem - i think that makes it better as you can understand and appreciate the rest of the poem more fully, so god job in getting the message across!
